World Hoop Day St. Louis is proud to be celebrating its 3rd year. We will be working hard to maintain our goal of donating 100 hand-made hoops to a needy St. Louis Public School. We have donated over 200 hoops in the last two years and it does make a difference in a child’s life.

With the help of her friends and family she was able to collect clothes and needed items to give to people in need in Nigeria. Her hoop goddess within made a lasting impression on so many. Ivory spent much of her time making hoops and giving them to children.

Join the STL Hoop Club for this unique opportunity to experience several different types of performance based theories in a welcoming, encouraging environment. These performance based theories can be seen at a circus, out and about, or where you least expect it.  Featured sections of the workshop include; belly dance fusion, poi, hoop fusion, and transitions and flow. 

 Classes will give students a taste for alternative dance and fitness that can be personalized to fit any style. In addition to these the sections listed above, a section on fire safety and costuming and performance will also be included.

Cost for the workshop is $80 for part 1 and part 2, or you may take one half-day session for only $40.   Registration deadline is 3/17/11.  To register, please send an email expressing your interest to info@slthoopclub.com.  A registration form will be sent upon request.  Props for all classes will be available for use.  Sign up for both sessions and receive a free spin toy gift of your choice.

A new opportunity to learn hoop dance will be offered by the STL Hoop Club Saturdays this February at our studio at 2720 Cherokee.  The new session of Beginners Hoop Dance will be taught by Michelle Schaeffer and aided by Brandy Misuraca of The Club.

Details:  This is a great class for beginner and intermediate hoopers.  Learn how to waist hoop, chest hoop, angles and a wealthy variety of other techniques.  Hooping can be used for creative expression, fitness, and fun. 

Redefine yourself as a hooper.

2-3:15 pm Saturdays in February / $12 per class / 2720 Cherokee St / Drop-Ins Welcome
