Hoop and Yoga Meet…

Discovery Within Movement St. Louis

Join us for a yoga and hoop dance experience fuzed with accents of live guitar accompaniment happening April 27 from noon to 2pm and May 18th from 7-9pm.  The emphasis of these two hour workshop will be on celebrating and engaging the senses with the intention of raising our vibration through movement. All levels of experience in yoga and hoop are encouraged, this includes introductory level all the way to advanced. Yoga mats, blankets, straps, and hoops will be provided for all. This workshop is a special teaching collaboration between Angie Campbell and Michelle Schaeffer. J.D. Hughes ( an up and coming, ambitious local musician will be providing live accompaniment for a portion of the workshop. Located at Gateway Flex Studio. (

Please arrive 5-15 minutes early for registration and check-in.$30 per student or sign up with a friend for $25 each/ Only 14 spaces will be availableYoung students are welcome. A waiver provided by Gateway Flex must be signed by a parent or guardian if the student is under 13.

Angie Campbell is a yogi with a beloved personal practice and passion for spreading it’s transformative benefits. She’s been teaching yoga for over a decade and has completed and continues to participate in teacher trainings in the Iyengar and Anusara lineages of yoga. She teaches regular local community classes at “Southtown yoga”, “Joy of Yoga”, “Agape yoga”, “the Pilates and yoga center of Ladue”, “Premier Pilates of St. Louis” and “Casa Bagus”.

Michelle Schaeffer holds five certifications in hoop dance/fitness and actively teaches hoop dance and hoop fitness in the St. Louis metro area. She has been in the hoop inspiring and educating for over 5 years and coordinates over 100 events annually. She maintains balance and takes pride working with other local St. Louis outlets for movement such as Circus Kaput, Circus Flora, The Fire Technicians, Venus in Flames, and the Beggars Carnivale among many others. Michelle is the founder and current Artistic Director of the STL Hoop Club located at 2720 Cherokee.

1900051_10152189530134410_952717624_nThe St. Louis hoopsters should take notice and consider attending this special, one night only, workshop happening Thursday.  With a reputation that precedes him, Baxter of HoopPath will not disappoint.  This will be his third workshop offering hosted by the St. Louis Hoop Club.   With a unique style all to his own Baxter is best known for teaching students how to tune into their unique style while hooping blindfolded or for his amazing paddles and breaks.  We are excited to see what new ideas and concepts he will bring.

Be excited St. Louis Flow Community.  This will be an intentional workshop, with the option for spiritual growth and connection to source. Study examples of the steps through which a trick, technique or transition can evolve to expand your flow. Concepts include yoga-hoop fusion, foot hooping, chakra meditation and sacred geometry.

New St. Louis Certified Hoop Instructors

Hoopnotica was in town last weekend and conducted training and certification in the areas of fitness and dance with the hoop.  The weekend was a success.  Michelle Schaeffer of the Hoop Club plus many others tested and received two new certifications to teach.  Michelle will now be offering Hoop Fit and Hoopnotica Flow in addition to current offerings of hoop dance and mini hoop fitness.

Hooping is a great way to improve your overall health and outlook on life.  We highly suggest!  The STL Hoop Club offers classes, workshops, private lessons, and performance.  If you would like to register for a current class or have questions, please let us know!



New Hoop Classes to be Offered at Gateway Flex

Michelle Schaeffer will be teaching two new classes at Gateway Flex Studio located above the City Diner on South Grand in St. Louis starting in October.  The studio is also home to an array of other dance classes such as belly dance, hip hop, modern dance, and more.

Hoop Dance 101 Enjoy the creative process of movement and fitness combined in this 5 week hula-hoopdance session taught by hoop dance and hoop fitness professional Michelle Schaeffer.  You need no prior experience of any kind. You do need an open mind and willingness to learn, laugh, and express yourself. Hoop dance is an engaging activity that burn calories, encourages weight loss and overall health improvement.  Each class will introduce new concepts of movement and dance within the hoop as well as tricks and multiple hoop play.

Michelle is formally trained through Hoopnotica (a global hoop teacher certification organization) and holds three certifications in addition to hosting and training with dozens of other hoop and flow organizations from around the United States.  Hoops are provided.    
Section 1: Mondays Oct 21, 28 and Nov 4, 11, and 18 / 7:30-8:30pm
Pre-registration suggested / If space allows drop-ins are welcome
$10 per class for drop-in students / Attend all 5 classes with pre-registration for $45
