We are moving into a larger studio more suited to our needs current and anticipated. The STL Hoop Club will be holding its first practice at the Koken Art Factory this Sunday evening from 7-10 pm. The Koken Art Factory is located at 2500 Ohio Avenue in South St. Louis.
In the near future the STL Hoop Club will be offering begining level one and two hoop classes taught by licensed and certified Hoopnotica instructors. Keep posted for further details.

On Saturday, June 6th the Hoop Club will be joining in the festivities at the 3rd annual Soulard Hula Gras Courtyard Stroll. We will be doing hooping demonstrations all day and, as always, LED Heady Hoops will be available for purchase.
Join us from 11am-7pm, for a party that can only happen in Soulard. Participating business will be offering tropical food and drink specials.
We will be performing on Friday, June 5th from 6-10pm at Still Within, a gallery exhibition by Julie Malone and Caroline Blaker. Still Within will explore the involutary solitude and perceptual shifts that the two artists encountered as they battled cancer. The exhibition will run throughout the month.

Sunday, May 31st at Off Broadway we will be throwing a benefit concert for our friend Dan Hamm, who recently injured in an unfortunate car accident. The money raised will be put toward a prosthetic leg for Dan.
The event is fast approaching, and things are coming into place. The pot luck dinner will begin at 6pm. There will also be silent auction and a raffle. We’ve also added some new performers as well. Comedian, Bill Chott, will be performing at 7pm and the St. Louis Fire Technicians will be spinning fire in the courtyard!

Midwest Mayhem, KDHX Community Media’s annual party for the public

There’s nothing quite like Midwest Mayhem at the City Museum. The musical lineup — from rock to blues to funk to country and beyond — is diverse, the setting delightfully chaotic, and the whole experience will rock you as only KDHX can.
This event takes place on four stages inside the City Museum, a 600,000 square foot feast for the eyes, body and ears. A self-described “children’s playground, funhouse, surrealistic pavilion, and architectural marvel made out of unique, found objects,” the museum is located at 701 North 15th Street in downtown Saint Louis.
Ten local bands — including Theodore, May Day Orchestra, the Funky Butt Brass Band, Rum Drum Ramblers, the Dock Ellis Band, the Grass Pack, the Blind Eyes, the Monads, Fred Friction and the combined musical forces of Art Dwyer, Tom Ray, John McHenry and Ron Edwards — will perform for the public at this annual KDHX party. KDHX programmers DJ Needles and DJ Al Swacker will be spinning records, and Lola Van Ella with the Alley Cat Revue, one of Saint Louis’s finest burlesque troupes, will be strutting their stuff.
Midwest Mayhem begins at 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 14, admission is $15 and all proceeds benefit KDHX Community Media (88.1 FM and TV 21+22)
