HERSTORY WEEKEND ~ March 12 & 13 ~ 7PM to 1AM~ 215 East Main Street, Belleville IL, 62220

 herstory1 This unique event honors all women in their glory.  Live music includes Kim Massie, Earthsol, Heather Barth Manley and many many more.  Art, clothing, and haircuts for Locks of Love will be on hand.   Performing artists include the STL Hoop Club, Exotic Rhythms Belly Dance, Michelle Mynx and Hips Afire.  You can catch us perform Friday around 10:30 pm.

 

Psychotronics 4 ~ March 13 ~ 9 PM to 4 AM ~ 2500 Ohio Avenue

Prepare yourself for the fourth installment of the regional series known as Psychotronic!  Come experience the notorious, ever-growing ST. LOUIS VIBE!!!  This event has to much entertainment to list.  (supplied at previous post) and is sure to be a great time.  The STL Hoop Club performance team will be hooping it up on the side stages all night.

  -ALICE- A Trip Down The Rabbit Hole hosted by Koken Art Factor ~ April 16 ~ 7PM to 12AM ~ 2500 Ohio Avenue

This art show will include over 50 artists from the area.  A theme of Alice in Wonderland will be evident in the art.  Several Craft and art vendors will have unique items for sale.  Live music will be provided by Sinfinis and Brown Bottle Fever.  Exotic Rhythms Belly Dance and the STL Hoop Club will be performing.  www.kokenartfactory.com

Spring Is Almost Here!

The STL Hoop Club has been busy hooping, meeting new people, teaching, and getting things scheduled for summer 2010.  We have been given many unique opportunities recently and can hardly wait to see what happens next!

 Sunday Open Hoop Jam has been going great!  We have seen many new faces,  and are thrilled that so many  fire spinners have joined us.  Occasionally, we have been hosting live bands and DJ’s on Sunday’s, which has been great!  DJ UNDERTOW will be spinning for us on March 28.

Sarah Smith’s Tuesday Beginning Hooping class has been a huge hit.  Sessions are every Tuesday from 7:15 to 8:15 at the Koken Art Factory.    Hoops are available to borrow.

In April Ziggy and Surka from Kansas City will be joining us to host a Double Hoop and Mini Hoop Workshop.  These ladies are the best in the Midwest and we are thrilled about their visit.  More details will be announced soon!

 

July the STL Hoop Club is proud to host a Beginning Hooping Workshop at the Botanical Gardens for The Healthy You, Healthy Planet Festival on July 17.  Plan are still on schedule for World Hoop Day 1010 in October at the Gardens.

Loop Ice Carnival!

The Loop on Delmar in St. Louis is proud to bring you the 5th Annual Loop Ice Carnival.  The STL Hoop Club will be performing at 1 and 3pm near the 609 Club off Delmar on January 16.  You may also catch us spinning our hoops throughout the event between our performances giving tutorials and demonstrations.

Here are highlights of the event!

☞ $1,000 in dollar coins frozen in ice cubes will be given away from noon ‘til they’re gone. Simply go in any participating Loop shop, restaurant or gallery & choose an ice cube. Presented by U.S. Cellular.

☞ Live Ice Carving demos with chain saws by Ice Visions at Fitz’s.

☞ 18’ High Giant Slide at the Moonrise Hotel and Eclipse Restaurant.

☞ Ice Slides for children next to Blueberry Hill all day.

World Hoop Day 10-10-10

The STL Hoop Club and the Missouri Botanical Gardens will be joining forces to bring St. Louis World Hoop Day 10-10-10. 

This event will include several specialty workshops and activities.  The day will also include musical entertainment and refreshments.
